2016 Dirty Three Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is the most widely planted grape across Gippsland and justifiably so. The cool climate and wide variety of soils in Gippsland suit the variety almost perfectly. Vineyard sites across Gippsland produce quite stark differences in resulting wine flavour and structure. This one of the unique and endearing qualities of Pinot, that it wears its dirt on its sleeve.

“Three different South Gippsland vineyards are blended into this wine- our Holgates Rd vineyard, Berrys Creek Vineyard, Tilsons Vineyard in Leongatha. The Three components were markedly different. Although ultimately single vineyard wine is king with regard to site expression, there is also something very cool about a blend of different components that come together to make a complete whole. This wine is complete, it has all the components that make Pinot such a joy to drink- perfume, complexity, length and power.”

Aged in French oak for 9 months. Bottled in December 2016.
