2016 Dirty Three Riesling
A blend of fruit from our Holgates Road vineyard in Leongatha South and Berrys Creek Vineyard, just north of Leongatha.
Picked at a low sugar levels in order to retain the high acidity needed to balance the off-dry style of the wine. The cool climate of South Gippsland helps to achieve this style. It was fermented in stainless steel and partly in older oak and using full solids (lees). It has 24g/l residual sugar and low alcohol of 10.5%.
Bottled in late July 2016.
A delicate wine with aromas of apple, lime and white flowers. On the palate the wine is about balance. The residual sugar level is quite high, but the acidity and importantly phenolics from the solids ferment give the wine a dry finish. Drinking great now, but will reward some time in the cellar. Serve well chilled.
